Dataset: LandScan Global Population Database - version 15, Jul. 2014
Using an innovative approach with Geographic Information Systems and Remote Sensing, ORNL’s LandScan is the community standard for global population distribution. At 30 arc-second (approximately 1 km) resolution, LandScan is the finest resolution global population distribution data available and represents an “ambient population” (average over 24 hours). The LandScan algorithm, an R&D 100 Award Wi ... (read more)

Dataset: Water Exploitation Index plus (WEI+) at the river basin scale
This dataset presents the Water Exploitation Index plus (WEI+) for European river basin districts It aims to illustrate pressure on renewable water resources of a defined territory (river basin, sub-basin etc.) in a given period (e.g. seasonal, annual) as a consequence of water use for human activities. Values above 20 % indicate that water resources are under stress, and above 40 % indicate sever ... (read more)
Dataset: Potential physical impact (ESPON Climate project)
Combined potential impacts of change in inundation depths of a 100 year river flood and a sea level rise adjusted 100 year coastal storm event as well as changes in flash flood potential and summer heat on population. Impact calculated as combination of regional exposure to climatic changes and recent data on regional sensitivity. Climatic changes derived from a comparison of 1961-1990 and 2071-21 ... (read more)
