The dataset represents a pressure trend indicator as measure of intensification of agroecosystems. The trend indicator is the share of cropland area affected by internal Land Cover flows between CORINE 2006 and 2012, presented at NUTS3 level. Those changes were used to identify the internal flows related to more intense use, mainly linked to the increase in resource and machinery use. The internal ... (read more)

CORINE Land Cover (CLC) was specified to standardize data collection on land in Europe to support environmental policy development. The reference year of first CLC inventory was 1990 (CLC1990), and the first update created in 2000. Later the update cycle has become 6 years. The number of participating countries has increased over time − currently includes 33 European Environment Agency (EEA) membe ... (read more)

European Environment Agency (sdi@eea.europa.eu)

The land cover flows covers several periods for the EEA38 member states and the United Kingdom. Land cover flows summarizes and interpret the 1892 possible one-to-one changes between the 44 CORINE land cover datasets. The changes are grouped to so called flows of land cover and are classified according to major land use processes.
