Die Darstellung richtet sich nach der Geländeneigung. Je steiler das Gelände, desto dunkler wird die Einfärbung. Mit dieser Darstellung sind viele kleine Geländedetails hervorragend sichtbar - z.B. Fusswege im Wald, Gräben und Grate, einzelne Felsen. Aus dieser Darstellung ist aber nicht ersichtlich, wo Erhebungen und wo Senken vorliegen, da diese gleich dargestellt werden.
